Cuba is now one of the most progressive countries in Latin America in regards to LGBTQ+ issues. Each year the LGBTQ+ community comes together to celebrate progressive policies and the increased social and political spaces achieved in recent years, in addition to discussing ways to continue moving forward.
The week is filled with important forums and educational events, but also rich cultural and interactive exchanges.
We will also have the opportunity to enjoy cultural activities that reveal nuances of what Cuba in the 21st century looks like. Artists, entrepreneurs and other leading figures will be part of our exchange that spans Havana and Viñales, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The trip will culminate in a celebration of Pride activities, including the march as well as other festivities such as art exhibits, musical performances and an evening gala.
Visits to important LGBTQ+ advocacy centers
Discussions with local entrepreneurs and business leaders
Stops at cultural hotspots, including museums, an art studio, a live music venue and top restaurants
The option to enjoy Havana’s world-renowned nightlife scene
A side trip out of the city to Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site
Participation in Havana’s annual Pride event, which includes not only a parade but also workshops and a gala
We will be hosting an info session to go over questions about signing up for this trip. Bring any and all questions!
